A Story Sandwich

Happy Friday Y’all!

Tonight I am wrapping up another assignment for the week. This time it’s about picking two photos from the Daily Create photography assignments and creating a story between the first and second photo, like a story sandwich

For this assignment I chose two photos from the daily create on January 21,2013. The prompt was to “Take a photo of the ONE thing you MUST see, do, eat, hear, etc. everyday.”

Hear are the two photos I chose:

So here is my story.

Once upon a time in a land far far away lived a young college freshman named Serena. Serena was a very good student all throughout high school and made honor roll every quarter, despite her lack of studying for tests. She was definitely considered one of the smartest girls in the whole school.

But Serena had a bit of a rough transition into college. She was not use to studying for her exams or having to stay up to the wee hours of the morning. Because Serena was up half the night, every night trying to finish her work she found it very difficult to stay awake during her morning classes. Her roommate Debra drank coffee every morning and she claimed the caffeine helped her wake up and give her a jolt for the day.

Serena decided she needed to see if coffee would help give her the boost that she needed. Both of her parents drank coffee every day and it seemed to help them as well. So the next day Serena decided to give the coffee a try. She wasn’t really a fan of the bitter taste, but a bit of sugar and a splash of creamer seemed to help that situation. So after chugging down two cups of coffee she ran out the door to class, she was already running late because she overslept and missed her alarm.

She made it to class right on time, but not 5 minutes later she had to go to the bathroom to pee. She hated using the bathroom during class because she missed out on taking notes and her professor talked insanely fast. Once she got back she was scribbling the notes down in a hurry. But 10 minutes later she had to go pee again, and this continued for the remaining 1 hour and 15 minute class. She was in the bathroom more than she was in class. This had never happened to her before, so she decided to contact “Dr. Google” to see what could be the cause. During her search she found out that caffeine (which was in the coffee) is a diuretic and that was the source of her frequent bathroom trips.

She decided that coffee would not be the answer to her sleepless problems. So Serena decided to go to her academic advisor and ask her for help. The advisor suggested that she work on her time management skills and go to bed no later in than midnight. Later that night, Serena setup a schedule that helped her prioritize her work and allow her to go to bed much earlier than she ever had before. Now she no longer needs to use coffee to give her that “boost” for the day. And she doesn’t have to worry about frequent bathroom trips!

The end.
