Taking another look into Digital Facelift by Gardner Campbell…after taking this class I can now say I see where he is coming from and that he was right. I never seen it as a problem for things to be lain out for us especially as far as tapping in to the web. When we use things like Facebook, Twitter and some other websites…everything is already ready for us, just a click away. Now that we are using wordpress, life was not that easy. We now had to learn how to use tools and plug-in, which were like learning a different language at first but we had more creative control of what it was we did and did not want.
The assignment that I liked the most was when we had to do a radio show. I thought that it was very fun, and I was able to let my personality really show. It was a long and tedious task, especially when it came to editing for the final project. I didn’t realize how many hours it took to make a 20 minute video, but it was still fun none the less. The assignments that I didn’t really like was the daily creates. Between work, school and other things, sometimes I just didn’t have the time to do them. Especially during the end as papers, finals and mid terms approached.
Creatively it was good to be in a class that not always tells you what to do. But its like when there is no one set of rules, what do i refer to to make sure that I am on the right path? Is there even a such thing as a right path in this class?
