I’m an instructional designer of the elearning/distance-ed variety. I think, or thought, I had a good grasp of educational technology. Some time ago I participated in ds106, an online open digital storytelling course; it emphasized technology. Anyway I thought I refreshed most of what i know, or should, about edtech but a few hours into a week-long moocmooc experiment, a massive something or other having to do with distance education, I can see there’s still holes to fill in my workflow/know-box.
Some tasks I had/have to accomplish:
- enter the rss feed for this blob (hope I did it right)
- do a whole lot of reading (nomnomnom)
- tweet about my experiences in the experiment
- be social
Anyway, this week’s shaping up to be a puzzling mix of people, technology, socialization and ed-you(me)-cation. Looking forward to it.
