I first became interested in the internet in 5th grade of Elementary school. At that time there was a site that became popular at my school called ‘Neopets’ and it gave me a reason to use the computer and go on the internet. My username, now forgotten, had nothing to do with my name, Paul, but it was something that I thought was clever back when I was 11 or 12.

After starting to use the internet I wanted to make a website of my own.  I started trying to learn HTML during middle school and created several simple sites using free site building tools, but eventually graduated into being able to code everything myself.  I also started learning PHP after seeing how impressive the scripts were for internet forums (such as phpBB and MyBB) in conjunction with MySQL.

Today I actively manage several websites and enjoy blogging on the go using my iPhone to show off my life in Tokyo through photos.  I’ve also been using the WordPress platform for many years and like it a lot. I look forward reading everyone’s blogs in this class
