Originally I had planned to do a 1950s informative video for my other video assignment, since that is something that I have always wanted to do. Unfortunately it fell threw pretty hard so I had to get something else done for the assignment. A friend of mine is trying to start up a pop culture/video game themed website/blog/youtube and had approached me earlier this week about doing a segment of some kind. He said it would be cool if I could do a podcast or play by play or something related to Starcraft II or one of the other more competitive eSports type games that I play. Since I haven’t touched Starcraft II in a few months and I don’t know if showing everyone how to pull off a 1-Rax fast expand against protoss is still in the meta of Starcraft, I decided to do a tutorial for League of Legends instead.
I was going to use a game of Dominion I had played, but I still haven’t found good streaming or video recording software for the purposes of creating a play by play. All I have right now is camstudio which works but can’t keep up well with a game like Starcraft or League of Legends or TF2 or anything that I might use. Anyway, I went with League of Legends and wanted to teach everyone how to jungle as the champion Trundle. Trundle is a troll, and a very good, but highly underplayed champion. Probably because he’s ugly. Something I did not mention in the video is that it is best to stay away from jungling until you’re about lvl 20 and start buying runes. Runes make life a hell of a lot easier. As I stated in the video, the runes I used were
9x Scaling Magic Resist Blues
9x Flat Armor Yellows
9x Armor Pen Reds
3x Attack Damage Quints
The masteries I used were 21/9/0.
The audio wasn’t as nice as I would like it to be since I’m still missing a mic and my laptop mic is awful. I’ll have to invest in one if I want to start up the podcast or play by play or whatever it is I’d do for my friends blog. I did the audio in Audacity and added it into the video in Windows Movie Maker 2.6
