It says this is embedded now, but I don’t really know. Anyway, I’m Kelsey Matthews. I’m a senior and generally overuse exclamation points. I am somewhat funny; I can do random voices which I may use for some of our projects. I really love to watch SNL, which is where I get some of my crazy ideas from. I was born on the Eastern Shore, in Nassawadox. I lived in Kitty Hawk for three years and finally settled in Mechanicsville where there are plenty of tractors and mudbogs to go around. I work at a produce stand, so I have gotten to learn a lot about food and other things, which is kind of awesome if I’m ever on the farm version of Jeopardy!. I can also tell seeded watermelons from seedless watermelons and a bunch of random other awesome farm knowledge. I am majoring in history; my main historical interest is midwives/medical history which a lot of people get weirded out by. I am interested in ds106 because I took Dr. McClurken’s Digital History seminar last year. I was part of the James Farmer group, and we had a technology goddess, Caitlin Murphy, who had taken this class and her stories really made me want to learn more about the digital world. I’m working on becoming more computer literate, but I have this habit of second-guessing myself no matter what. Other than that, I’m really excited about this year and look forward to learning and also seeing everyone else’s projects.
