Bootcamp accomplished!

This week I chose to do the following daily creates:

First, Monday’s daily create of a photo showing the great outdoors,

The great outdoors!

I took this photo last October when my entire family stayed in a beautiful cabin for the weekend. I snapped this from the front porch, I was in love with the view. I felt like we could see so much! I feel like this picture really resembles “the great outdoors” because we were in a pretty secluded area and everything just felt so fresh and peaceful. This photo reminds me of the beautiful veiw and the wonderful memories of that weekend spent with family.

Next, I completed Wednesday’s daily create of a spinning object.

This is a picture of my mini fan that lives in my bed with me when I sleep. (don’t judge me!) It has made these past few weeks ALMOST bearable on the third floor with no air conditioning, with out it I probably would have melted by now.

And last but not least, I completed Friday’s daily create where I drew an album cover

GOO GOO DOLLS

I honestly don’t think I could ever choose a favorite band. I love all sorts of music and it really just depends on what type of mood I am in. When I saw this daily create, I was singing along to the goo goo dolls, so I decided to make a goo goo dolls album cover. I love the goo goo dolls because their music is easy to sing along to and most of it is somewhat peaceful and fun!

DAILY CREATES ARE MY FAVORITE.

Creative Commons:

I found researching creative commons extremely interesting! You can read my research on my “Give credit where credit is due” page! I am glad to have a copyright license now :)

WTF is a GIF??

I had no clue what a GIF was before this assignment. At first I found this assignment extremely intimidating, but once reading Jim Groom’s tutorial on how to make a GIF a few times I felt like I was ready to give it a try. The first thing I did was download all the software I needed. I used YTD video downloader to download the clip from youtube. Then I used MPEG Streamclip to trim down the clip and provide a sequence of images. Finally I used GIMP to create my GIF by layering all of the images together. (To find out more check out my post about my GIFing experience!)

These are the two I made! Both are scenes from Bridesmaids.

“I’m not drunk!’

“I’m ready to party!”

Annie is just as happy as I am to be done with bootcamp!! :D

Customizing my Blog!

I love my blog now. I really enjoyed trying out different themes and color schemes. I think that I found one that really fits me. I tried to customize my menu more, it is much easier to maneuver around my  blog now. Now that my blog is more customized  I think it definitely reflects who I am.

I think the biggest challenge for me in this department was deciding on a theme. When I started searching for a theme, I had this exact image in my head of what I wanted it to be like. I went in very close minded. Then I regrouped and started trying  different ones and found one that I loved.

I would love to have a personal blog one day or even just be more personal on this one. I guess I will have to work up to opening up more though.

MY LAST WEEK OF BOOTCAMP EXPERIENCE!

So far my experience with DS106 has been an EXPERIENCE. I feel so much more knowledgeable about technology. The most difficult part of this week was creating a GIF, especially because I  had NO clue what a GIF actually was. Once I figured it out I loved it. GIFs are so much fun! I did need help making my GIFs work in my post, but it was an easy fix.

Bootcamp was nothing like I ever imagined bootcamp being! It was so much fun! The only down side to it was that I never wanted to do any work for any of my other classes. I always just found myself logging  in to my blog. Oh well! It was a blast!

I am looking forward to what next week will hold!
