I bet that when most people imagine storytelling they picture it the same way I do, at least initially. The first exposure I had to storytelling was having a book read to me. I think of books, intimate settings and warm beds. When storytelling is digital, I see the story become more concrete and less in the realm of imagination. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, sight is a powerful sense and much more information can be communicated in a much shorter period of time when the story involves multiple mediums. I think digital storytelling is more storytelling “plus” then a separate category, it integrates technological advancements to enhance and compact the story itself.
