Four Daily Creates:
1. September 10, 2012: Take a picture of anger, or something that makes you angry.
Having no internet makes me angry, especailly since I’m taking ds106 and it’s all online.
2. September 12, 2012: Side walks are great for people watching. Make a photograph of a side walk scene today.
For this picture I was wating out side Seco for some friends to grab lunch but then I thought this would make a great picture for a daily create so I got out my phone and took a picture of people walking outside on a beautiful day to Seco.
3. September 13, 2012: Draw a picture of something you miss.
I’m not much of an artist even on Paint, but something I really miss is my dog. I have a cock-a-poo (mix between a cocker spaniel and poodle) named Sophie and she is 10 years old. She is the sweetest dog ever and she helped me over come my fear of dogs. Being at college away from her is hard.
4. September 14, 2012: Take a close up photo of an object with unique texture or pattern; make us guess what it is.
I’m not going to say much about this daily create, guess what this is a picture of!
I have been enjoying the daily creates. I like how it doesn’t take very long to do them and I always look forward to see what is coming the next day for the daily create.

I really enjoyed this activity. I played the 5 card Flickr and created a story about a frog. It fun to pick pictures that related to each other and it was fun to improvise when the you get a picture that doesn’t completely relate.

A general description of my participation this week: This week I enjoyed looking through google reader and finding blog posts that I found interesting to comment on. Google reader has been really helpful to finding new blog posts, and starring the ones that I’ve commented on. I will be using it from now on to see what others have been posting. This week I commented on different kinds of blog posts from Daily Creates to what is storytelling, the shapes of stories and past DS106 posts. Sine I chose my post What is Storytelling as the post I wanted to get the most comments on I also commented on other peoples posts on their definition of storytelling. The post I commented the most on was redirecting to a subdomain. It was nice that Crystal and I were able to comment back and forth to each other, and I liked seeing other peoples comments on that post. I enjoyed commenting on other peoples blogs, it really helps me to get to know other people in the class better because we will never actually see each other in class. I have also been working on following people in class on twitter.

I chose my first post “What is Storytelling” as the post I wanted to get 5 comments on because I was interested to see what others had to say in response to me. This might not have been my most creative post but the comment I have recieved have been very thoughtful and gave me a different perspective on what I thought storytelling is. To get comments on this post I posted the link on twitter with the #ds106 tag. Even though I did not get 5 total comments on this one post (it says I have 5 comments but two of them are comments I made) I had received comments on my other posts for other assignments that I did this week. I have actually enjoyed receiving comments and giving comments it helps me get my work to be better and gives me ways that I can improve my posts for the next week. For the comments that I have received I have tried to respond back to them if there are questions involved.
Talk about week three in general: I have been enjoying being in DS106. I’m glad that bootcamp is over, so now there is more focus on the actual class of digital storytelling. I liked this week how we got to explore what story telling is and different kinds of story telling, and is there a difference between storytelling and digital storytelling. I believe that after this week there is a difference between storytelling and digital storytelling, but the thing they have in common is that it’s a story either way that it’s told. I am definitely feeling more comfortable with my blog. I also would like to say that installing google reader was easy and I like how you can see posts from other classmates. It definitely made it easier to pick the posts I wanted to comment on. I have also been able to create links with words insted of just pasting a long URL. For week 3 I would definitely say the hardest thing was to redirect to my subdomain. (I thought making a gif was hard during boot camp but this was harder) But thanks to crystalrose0784 and Martha I was able to fix that. Her tutorial was great and easy to follow especially after figuring out the problem with the ” ” marks. I honestly don’t think I would’ve figured it out without her. But other than that I found that the assignments this week were interesting and I’m looking forward to see what will be coming in the next few weeks. I hope next week there won’t be anything as tricky as redirecting to a subdomain, anything else I feel like I can handle. . I feel like anytime I get on my computer I’m always seeing what is new that is going on in this class. I’ve really been enjoying this class. It is unlike any class that I have ever taken.
