What is Storytelling? My opinion on Storytelling and its digital counterpart hasn’t really changed throughout the week, I still see digital storytelling as a relying on the same basic principles “plus” visuals and audio (amongst other mediums) to enhance that core story.
Not the most beautiful graphic, but it’s functional: Here is my Vonnegut Story Shape of a movie you may recognize from some previous work… I feel like you could boil most of western storytelling into a dozen or so of these basic shape’s.
Now, Daily Creates:
TDC#246: “Take a picture of anger, or something that makes you angry.”
Not that I HATE the sun, we just don’t see eye to eye on a lot of things.
TDC#248: “Sidewalks are great for people watching. Make a photograph of a sidewalk scene today.”
I was nonchalantly holding my phone out to take this picture, I hope no one thought I was a creeper.
TDC#249: “Draw a picture of something you miss.”
I lived off this stuff this summer, working long/boring hours, but swore off the stuff near the end of my summer employment and switched to heavy doses of coffee (black) and iced tea (unsweetened). Hurray for healthier ways to indulge my caffeine addiction!
TDC#250: “Take a close up photo of an object with unique texture or pattern; make us guess what it is.”
I’ll give you a hint: Hoot.
An overview of all my daily creates this week: It felt more natural and less obtrusive doing them, one might even say fun
Here is my Story in Photo’s, I enjoyed the assignment but spent quite a while deciding who was going to “star” in my story and where \ who(*hint, hint*) the setting was going to be.
I went on a commenting binge and this was the gem of the afternoon by far. I’ve always loved the goonies. It’s also cool to see how everyone has their websites set up, some pretty spiffy theme’s and customizations out there. This might also be a good time to show my post on my favorite treasure from ds-106′ers past, this is my post on a really cool Watchmen GIF.
Below is my twitter activity for the week, both posts were attempts to solicit responses, I did get a comment from someone other than @mburtis, so as far as I’m concerned, that’s a success!

Maybe next time I should be a little more explicit in wanting comments
I solicited this post for comments, of which I have none from people other than mburtis and myself, but I did receive a comment on another post, which is encouraging. (And this is all at the time of my writing this, there is still hope for more activity!)
UPDATE: They like me, they really like me. I’m replying to the flurry of comment activity this evening currently.
This week I feel the best I have yet, really getting the hang of the rhythm of the course, I just need to procrastinate a little less, although it doesn’t sound like much individually, these assignments can really pile up!
