Best of Set Flickr

Today I have been working on updating my flickr account.  I now have a more customized flickr URL: http://www.flickr.com/photos/amandrews93/  and I have  figured out how to email photos to my flickr email account and they will automatically upload to my flickr photo stream.  I just uploaded a picture I took on the UMW campus a few days ago as a test to see if the email really worked.  I have also figured out how to share my photos on flickr on my twitter account.

Now onto the Best of Set.  I followed the instructions on how to create a set on flickr.  It was very easy to follow and I created a set of my best work.  I’m not exactly sure if this was the correct way to embed a flickr set to my blog, but I’m going to explain how I did it.

First log into your flickr account and went to my photo stream which is under the You button at the  top left (between home and organize and create buttons).  To the right shows the set you created (in my case my set was called best work).  After clicking on the set I clicked on slide show which it in the right corner.  You then get to watch a slide show of your best photos.   After the slide show is over you then get the option to either replay the show or share.  Then click on the share button.  The word share is also in the top right corner when the slide show is playing.  You then copy and paste the embed HTML link and paste it into your blog.  Remember to copy and paste the embedded post into the HTML part of your blog not the visual.  Then you will be able to see all the photos in your best work set from flickr in your blog.

For now my best work contains the some of the 5 photos I put into my blog at the beginning of the year so my flickr account would know I’m a real person.  The other two pictures I included in my best work are some pictures I took around UMW.  One of the two pictures was used for a daily create.  The other picture of UMW was one I took just because I felt like taking a picture and it was a beautiful day outside.

All my photos in my best work set on flickr are photos of scenery.  I think scenery is a great to get a picture of because it really captures the essence of the place.  I really enjoy taking picture of a place where there is no one around (or not too many people around).  It is usually very hard to find a place with no people around at  all.  I feel like a lot of times there is a great scenery but there are too many people around to get a good picture.  I feel like a lot of people just need to understand the beauty of what is around them for just a moment.

I plan on adding to my best work set on Flickr throughout the week with work from my visual assignments I choose, but now I want to post this to see if I embedded the set of photos correctly.
