Visual Assignment #1

I did the a-z photo collage assignment, worth 3 stars.

I focused on animals and when it came to the letters u and x I stretched it by using the scientific names sometimes.

here’s my photo collage:

a-zanimals

For photos of all the animals, I used Creative Commons images licensed for non-commercial use. I found them on both fotopedia and google. The animals A-Z are: alligator, baboon, cat, dog, elephant, fox, giraffe, horse, iguana, jellyfish, koala, lemur, manatee, newt, ocelot, penguin, quail, reindeer, sloth, turkey, ural owl, vulture, whale, xerus [ground squirrel], yak, and zebra. First I brainstormed the topic and then listed a-z, filling in the blanks of animals I already knew. Then, google came in handy for finding animals for the letters I couldn’t. I went to creativecommons.org and sub-searched fotopedia and google for the images I needed. I had downloaded Picasa on my computer, and made a folder for the images I was collecting with my pictures. I then imported my pictures into Picasa (available through google), which took all the pictures from the folder and put them into the same area. (For whatever reason, some of the photos I imported would not show up in Picasa,  I’m not sure why.) I then clicked make collage, and mosaic tiled the images. Then, I just clicked and dragged the images into alphabetical order. I saved the image once I had ordered it alphabetically and voila! uploaded it to flickr.
