Final Project Progress Report 2

I’ve been working hard on the final project over the last few weeks. The biggest thing I’ve gotten (pretty much) done is the map for the world. I’ve also been working on some of the stuff for the conlang(s) I’ll be using in the world. Before I go more in-depth I’ll have to give some background info for the world idea:

Long story short, the world is actually terraformed Venus in the far future. The idea is that some kind of world-ending cataclysm takes place in the less-far future, reducing civilisation back to a much lower level of technology. I’ll write more about it all later on. Anyways, here’s the map I’ve been working on:

venus-whole-with-names

You’ll probably want to open it in a new tab, since this thing is huge. It’s like 11.5K pixels wide. All the names used are real placenames for features on Venus.

The conlang I’ll be making is actually going to be a far-future descendant of American English. I won’t bother listing out the sound changes I’ve been making so far, since they wouldn’t be too interesting to people without a background in linguistics.

So yeah, that’s what I’ve been working on the past few weeks. Sometime over the next couple of days I’ll make a post talking about how I made the map, but for now you can just see the (current) final result.
