Week 10 Tuesday Video: Reading Movies

Posted by

Martha was not available today, so Alan did a solo introduction to Week 10 in which we start a long segment of storytelling in video (Martha will add her own segment tomorrow).

The focus this week is prepping for doing video editing, but not really doing editing- and primarily looking at video in a way we do not normally do when being entertained. We want you to start being able to “read” video, meaning observing details of camera work, character placement, use of sound, special effects, everything that goes into making the story a believable experience. You will also start looking at the video assignment you may want to do next week, and get everything you might need to create the video EXCEPT actually making it (you will do that next week).

Yes, you can read movies!
