Writers’ Block and the Problem of Where to Start

This week I have tried to think of various approaches to and on what I would like to do for the final project. I am still undecided at the moment, but I know that I want it to focus on something technology-related! Another aspect I would like to incorporate into my project is music, and I will keep my mind open for what I finally decide to work on until I begin to have a better idea.

I think back on the past few weeks and reflect on two particular posts that I completed. I had one with a short song I wrote and another talking about the importance of privacy. Perhaps I could write about a fictional story about a musician who is forced to write music in secret because of some form of oppression? I also would like my story to have some positive meaning, rather than focusing on the darker aspects.

The Kurt Vonnegut video was particularly eye-opening and reminded me that people like to tell a select handful of stories. The best approach towards this will be to add some twists and try to put some of my creativity into accomplishing the final product. The other piece that stood out to me this week was the “I link, therefore I am” article.

I remember when I was little reading some books of the “Choose Your Own Adventure” series, and I want to include some aspect of this into my project.

In the upcoming weeks, I will have an idea of my character and just what type of story I would like to write!
