Jim Groom’s Minimalist Film Travel Poster:

I’m really into softglow, as you can see. Here’s what I did: I started with a 480×640 black background in the GIMP and grabbed the SF Transrobotics font off of DaFont (there was a Blade Runner font, but that’s too obvious). Then I found a (public domain) PNG of an outline globe so I could cut out all the colors and just have the white on black that I really liked. I used a fuzzy paintbrush to get the star effect and then merged all the layers down. I finally applied a softglow effect to the whole poster and then added a border from the Filter>Decor menu. I direct uploaded this; I’ll put it on Flickr later.
