This process was bar far one of the most difficult things I’ve had to do for a class in my life. And that’s saying a lot since I’m an English major and we put up with a lot of work, under constant pressure with deadlines breathing down our necks it’s hard not to crack. But I did it & I feel accomplished!
Step one-three was easy enough, purchasing the domain and hosting servers were easy enough (pretty easy on my wallet too which is ALWAYS a good thing) and getting my accounts in order and organized was easy enough.
DUM DUM DUM then I came across a major problem…pointing my server to my hosting site was such an ordeal. I complained to all of my fellow peers in my program, emailed my professor, tweeted at experts and called customer service numbers. My solace came when I finally reached out to an email support site through my hosting server site and received a response right away. Turned out the problem lied in the discrepancy of my domain name and hostserver name…they were different. So once those names matched I was able to finish the process of setting up the blog, the WordPress & registering for the DS106 site I needed for my Media Lit class. YAY! Took 3 days but I finally finished.
Until next time, All Things Ashley OUT!
