I did it! My blog is finally set up and I couldn’t be more happy about it.
I started by going step by step through the instructions, but as I continued to click on more and more links, I found myself getting away from (and forgetting) the initial page with all of the directions! Eventually, I had set up accounts using Hover and CIC, but didn’t know how to connect them. I also began wondering where wordpress came into the mix and how that would connect… overwhelmed, I quit for the day.
I went back the next day and experimented with a few things…still no luck. Finally in class, Erin helped show me the ONE step I was missing to connect Hover and CIC. I was so close! Then, I got help from Cynthia with the blog. Turns out, all I had to do was refer back to the initial set of directions! Again- so close! How stupid, yet so easy to get away from. Luckily, it was a very easy fix to my troubles setting up the blog!
I thought this whole thing was a great experience and really helped me learn how to experiment and learn on my own without the constant aid of a teacher. Sure, they are there for guidance, but it’s fullfilling knowing I did this on my own! It was also great to know that even when I felt SUPER lost, and so far from anywhere I needed to be, I was actually only a couple steps away from being EXACTLY where I needed to be! I’m feeling accomplished.
