How did I do this?

Making this blog was not that hard. I’ll be honest when I say that I don’t truly understand all of the steps that I had to take, but it all seemed to work. A large portion of my classmates were not lazy bums and started the process on the day we were given the assignment. Not this lady. I was looking at four days before I has class again. That was precious time to do anything I wanted that was not school work. Those first two days of classes really wiped me out! As the weekend slowly trickled by I noticed how my Facebook news feed was blowing up with people in various stages of confusion and stress over the road blocks that were popping up while creating their blogs.

Clearly that didn’t faze me as continued to keep pushing off starting my homework. I finally decided to become a student at 7 pm on Monday night when I needed this for 8:30 am the next morning. What can I say procrastination is my drug of choice. I clicked on the links that were graciously provided for me in the step by step instructions on the DS106 outline. I was able to discover what other people did by creeping on their Facebook. Everything was explained in the instructions in steps that was very understandable to my tech unsavy mind. I followed them like ducks follow their mother. I didn’t always understand what they were telling me to do but I was okay with that. My mindset through this whole process was “well I hope I’m doing something right”.

I am so proud of myself after this whole process. I am showing off my blog like it is a noodle necklace that I made in aftercare that day. I think that great things will come out of this blog- even if I chose a name that was a bit of a throw away. I hope that I am able to come to every new task in this journey with a “let’s make it work” attitude. After the success of creating a functional blog, I know I will.
