Touch of Color! :)

For visual assignment number 2, I choose to do Splash the Color! I have never actually created a picture like this where everything is black and white except for one part of the image but I have seen numerous ones.  So, I thought what the heck, I am going to give it a try.  Figuring out how to do it was another story. But thankfully, there is an app for that (and almost everything else)!! :) I used the “PhotoSplash” app which I downloaded on my iPhone.  Best part is, you can create really cool pictures for free!!!  The only downside to it, is in some pictures some of the colors came out a different shades.  Once it is downloaded, you choose the picture you want to use and then it comes up on the screen in black and white.  Using your finger, you can touch the part you want to bring color back to.  There is also a turn back to black and white button, just in case you mess up and touch a part of the picture you didn’t want colored.  I have come to realize that my fingers are slightly bigger than I thought, so I had to turn parts of my picture back to black and white quite a bit.  This app lets you change the size of the brush so you can carefully turn the parts you want to colorful masterpiece! If you have an iPhone and you have not downloaded this app, I suggest doing so and seeing what fun images you can create!

I choose a picture from my high school graduation, where I am surrounded by a bunch of other people. I made myself the only colored thing in the picture, because I wanted to stand out in a crowd.  I seem to be on this don’t blend in, stand out and be yourself kick! Sometimes I am not the most outgoing or tell how I really feel kind of person, however there comes a time when everyone I am sure gets tired of having people “walk on top of them” because they don’t want to tell them how they feel because they do not want to hurt their feelings.  Well, I have hit that point in my life. So I choose this picture and colored me to show that I am going to start standing out and up!

To end, two things:

1) A picture really is worth a thousand words!

2) There really is an app for everything, and I am not going to lie. I actually chuckled a little to myself as I typed there is an app that that.
