If movie posters told the truth

Our assignment this week were from the design category of the ds106 assignments. This one really caught my eye. I had seen similar posters on the internet and I always thought that they were really clever. This was the first movie to pop into my mind. Its an independent film from 2007 that stars an actor I enjoy watching.

Whenever I talk about this movie I feel the need to clarify that it is not a pornographic film, but actually about finding your identity though love. Even when I tried showing people the movie poster it looked dubious. So i tried to make it over and show case what it is really about.

I first Google image searched for the poster. Then I copied and pasted it into paint twice. I left the image on the left untouched, The image on the right was tinkered with. I erased the title and the subtitle promoting the music in the film. I then uploaded it to Picnik. From there I played with the color and added the text. I was bummed that I couldn’t get the text in the ruler to tilt. Also I realized that the white text might be a bit small to read, but I didn’t want it to be too big.

This isn’t as exact as the ones I have seen in the past but it’s not too bad for my first time trying.
