60s/70s Six Second Sound Challenge

The assignment: make a six second sound clip, using clips of no more than one second from six different songs.

The six tracks were pretty easy to add to Audacity with the import button. For each song, I zoomed in to isolate the clip I wanted, copied it, and then pasted each of them to a new Audacity file. The biggest challenge was to figure out what clips would be good to use. I started out trying to choose clips that would be the most recognizable, but got a bit distracted thinking of possible new audio assignment ideas, like making a short “new” song taken from fragments of other songs and arranged so that all the lyrics form something comprehensible. The result is that some of these are probably more obscure parts of songs, if not obscure songs themselves. Anyway, the contest nobody could win is an apt name for this — I have been clueless about most of these. Although one of my housemates was able to guess three of these pretty quickly, so perhaps you will too?
