Radio Show Review – The Live Outdoors

Today we listened to the last three radio shows, and I’m going to review The Live Outdoors.

If I had an actual scale to go by, I would give this 4 stars. ?????

I really liked this show. I think they made a funny, quirky little show and I think they did a really good job. I have no idea what kind of shows students have made in the past, but as far as I know, the premise of this one is pretty original. Most other shows were just kind of people talking, but this one had a good variety of content.

The part with “Bear Grylls” was entertaining, I liked how they had someone call in and then played back little clips from Man vs. Wild where he told her what to eat, drink, and sleep in, no matter how ridiculous the advice.

The s’mores segment was cute too. I like how they took something as basic as s’mores and made it into a full-blown culinary art.

They did a nice job adding in sound effects, especially during the “plane crash” segment. I also thought it was nice how they added in some background noises like chirping birds and just generic outdoors sounds.

Good bumpers, too.

PROS: Funny, well-made, not boring.

CONS: Audio was a little uneven, lots of talking about peeing.
