I have had an unbelievably busy week, so here is my slightly belated commentary on the production of our radio show.
The hardest part of the show by far was figuring out what we wanted to talk about. The door was wide open on topics, but that almost made our job harder, knowing that we could do literally anything we wanted to! After much discussion we decided we wanted something humorous, and what is more humorous than a little bit of embarrassment? And thus was born You’re Not the Only One, the radio show that discusses the little things in life that everyone can relate to. From embarrassing stories to pet peeves, we decided to interview people and edit everything in to make it seem like people were calling in to the radio station.
From there it was a matter of getting the interviews and figuring out the order of the whole show. For my part, I interviewed a couple of people, and helped create the segment on pet peeves. I also outlined most of the show’s format and structure. I was unfortunately not able to be as involved in the actual creation process as I wanted to be, because I did not have access to internet for the latter half of the project work time, but in the end I think our group created a good show. Audacity makes editing sound clips very easy, so the program was not a problem to work with at all. In fact, it was soundcloud that posed the biggest problem, as one of our group members wasn’t really able to upload his sounds onto the site.
