I am not one that usually enjoys scary movies because I feel like I watch the movie and the whole time I’m just worried about if something is going to scare me or not. Anyways here is how I would create my horror scene.
To make my horror scene I would utilize low light. No overhead lights would be used because those illuminate everything. I would want specific lighting and would therefore only use lamps, or maybe even electronics that are turned on like a TV or computer. Secondly, I would have eerie music. Not loud, but also not soft. Something compelling to make the audience think something is going to happen. I would also have a “semi scare” before the actual scary part of the scene. You know, like when people are walking and someone opens a door and they all scream because they think someone is there but it’s really just a cat? Yeah, something like that. And then I would actually scare them. I would definitely utilize the element of surprise. I would draw it out and make the audience think the scariness has ceased, and then hit them with the big shot! Also, I would ensure that my actors had the perfect scream, not too girly but not too manly. A genuinely scared scream.
That’s pretty much it as far as outlining how I would do it.
