Preproduction: Silent Bourne?

For the Return to the Silent Era project, I would choose to do The Bourne Identity. There are some really cool hand fighting scenes in that movie, and the character is pretty quiet so I wouldn’t have to worry about a lot of dialogue. Most of the movie focuses on his confusion over who he is, so I think that is what I would try to emphasize, with as little text as possible.

I would want to turn the clip into black and white obviously, to make it look older, and remove all the sound. I watched the example video, Silent Star Wars, and that helped me get a feel for how to do it. Somehow the guy who did it was able to make the movement of the actors more choppy, like they are in older films, and I would really like to figure out how to do that…maybe he just sped it up just slightly? He also fuzzed the edges of the screen, and had those black lines going through that old films have, so those few details really add a lot to making it look like a silent film.
