How To Walk A Dog!!

For my first 5 stars (25 to go), I decided to complete the Vintage Educational Video. These are the requirements: Make a 5 minute or less video of a modern topic in the vintage style of these films. Include elements like cheesy music, titles, cut out graphics, booming voice to make something educational.

I choose this assignment as the one of the ones I did last week for the pre-production assignments. So it was not that hard to get ready for filming. I made the signs that contained the steps for how to walk a dog on cardstock paper. I talked my oh so nice cousin into being my nerdy actor. I used my Flip video camera to do all the recording. I decided to add some old time background music to my video using this website: http://incompetech.com/m/c/royalty-free/index.html?genre=Silent%20Film%20Score, the song I choose to use is called Amazing plan. I found the count down from YouTube. I made it choppy because that’s how I envision old vintage movies to be. And I also only had a narrator talk with Hunter making goofy actions. Lastly I gave it an old movie style (black and white).

PS. Hunter’s dog was not the most cooperative dog, so sorry about that!

Once the recording was done, I imported all of my videos into VideoPad Video Editor, a free video editing program, turns out to be pretty easy to maneuver. Love that! I add to do some cutting of the clips my adjusting the in point and out point. Then I put all of the clips together in the correct order. There is a feature that allows you to turn the film in to old movie style. Then after finding the music listed above I imported the song into VideoPad and adjusted the volume so it wouldnt overtake the video. Finally I saved the video and uploaded it to Youtube and included it into my blog.

Here is my educational video: How to Walk a Dog! Enjoy! :)
