For the One Archetype, Five Movies, Five Seconds project I chose to do the old fashioned cowboy. I love old Westerns and chose a couple of my favorites for this project. Okay, so it ended up being more than five seconds, but I couldn’t resist leaving a little more in there for effect…

I really feel like this project would be better if there wasn’t a one-second limit for each movie clip, that’s why I wasn’t too strict on my clip length. It shouldn’t be overly long, but a second really isn’t long enough to portray the feel of the archetype; it just gives the video a kind of frantic feel. I will admit that it is a challenge to limit your clips to one second, but hey, isn’t that what the One Second of Beauty project is for?? (I did that project as well; you can view it here).

That’s enough of my rant, time for you to see what you really came here for: five good old fashioned gunslingers! The movies are The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly, Lonesome Dove, Rio Bravo, True Grit (the old one!), and my personal favorite, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. I used iMovie to put the whole project together and elected not to insert any music; I thought that the old-timey gunshot sound effects were awesome.
