“Watch your thoughts, for they become words.
Watch your words, for they become actions.
Watch your actions, for they become habits.
Watch your habits, for they become character.
Watch your character, for it becomes your destiny.”
-Lao Tzu
This assignment is entitled poetry reading. It is an assignment in the audio section of DS106. In this post you are supposed to choose a piece of poetry and record it. This assignment is interesting because you get to choose a poem that explains you. The poetry reading assignment may be one of the most expressive assignment in this section.
Process:
I used SoundCloud to record my poem. There are many apps that can be used to record this assignment, but I find this one the easiest. I downloaded the app and recorded it, but you can also go on the website to do it.
Description:
In my opinion this is a poem, but it’s famously known as a Chinese Proverb. This poem is a great representation of maturity. Sometimes we need to be watchful of everything we say and do, but sometimes we do things without thinking. Basically this is about being watchful, because with every action there is a positive or negative result. I never really understood this until my second year in college. I have always been the type person to always say what is on my mind until I learned thats not always good. I live my life by this quote, because I feel that it will always keep me in line.
