Weekly Summary #1

Talk about stressful!

I looked at the syllabus and immediately gulped. I didn’t know where to start or where to look so I just started making my Youtube, Flickr, Google, and WordPress accounts. Also, here is the link to my About Me! page..it still needs some work but finishing this week’s assignment is priority!! I am still not sure I’m doing everything right. The first day I decided to create the picture that depicted heat and I added it to my flickr account. That assignment was fun and sad at the same time (sad when realizing just how limited my skills are with paint and a laptop mousepad).

For my next dailycreate I took a photo where the color was contrasted. My roommate has this really cool poster that we bought just recently together to decorate our new living room and I am obsessed with it and felt that it would be a great match for the assignment. This photo too was added to my flickr photo stream.

For the last assignment I made a Youtube vide of my keychain. It was so sad because my old keychain (you find out what happened to it in the video ;) ) had so many keys with such cool stories. My new keychain, the one in the video posted, is so boring with brand new keys and only fairly new stories. But I guess with every new keychain comes new stories and adventures!! I like the process of the dailycreate because I feel like it will launch my skills with technology further and will be very very useful in my future and with anything I choose to do later. I am excited about the idea of challenging myself with new media and learning new techniques that will give me the edge future employers may be looking for!

After watching the videos I felt a little bit more comfortable with the class because I was initially very worried about my timeline for each week and the amount of work I needed to do but the videos sort of cleared up any concerns I had about the syllabus. When reviewing the media for this week, I liked the video by Robert Hughes. I thought it was really funny yet informative at the same time and accurate in what he was saying! Steven Johnson’s video was a really unique video and I liked that he paired his narrations with illustrations to make his ideas go across and so that they are able to be absorbed and directed toward whatever audience he may have.

I was fairly new to Twitter (aka I have had an account for a long time, but rarely tweet, just mostly follow the Bruins!!) and so I was a little excited to have a reason to start tweeting!
