Five Sound Story

At least 3 Daily Creates:

1. September 18, 2012: Today’s theme is “3″ Make a photograph that features the number itself or otherwise represents 3 items

Daily create 9/18/12

These three items are my biology notebook, my biology textbook, and my biology folder. I am currently using these three items to study for my biology test for tomorrow (Wednesday).

2. September 20, 2012: Can graffiti be beautiful?  Let your photo make a statement.

Daily create 9/20

I chose this picture of pacman graffiti because I walk by it every day.  It’s located on the new pedestrian walk at UMW behind all the construction.  I always liked playing pacman when I was younger, and I really like this picture.

3. September 21, 2012: Today is Miniture Golf Day.  Make a drawing that celebrates the seriousness of this sport.

Daily Create 9/21

I wrote a little description in this drawing, but the three people in this drawing are very competitive in their mini golf game. I know there are more than 3 holes in mini golf but it was all I could fit in this drawing.  It also shows the variety and different shapes of mini golf courses.

Weekly Reflection:  Before this week I have never really listened to the radio.  Usually when I had the radio on it was just background noise for when I was doing other things.  I never really listened to a radio broadcast before this week. (Well sometimes when my dad would listen to NPR radio in the car I would listen).  I enjoyed the activities that I had to do this past week.  I really liked listening to ds106 radio,  and I will continue to listen to it.  I really enjoyed listening to a live show of @DrGarcia.  I’ve never been mentioned on the radio before so that was exciting to be mentioned.  I like following ds106radio on twitter because it gives you every song that is being played, and when live performances are.  This week I really enjoyed the audio assignments.  I liked creating the 5 sound story, and using the website Freesounds as well as my radio bumper.  I really liked learning how to use the program of Audacity.   I have used audacity in the past for making recordings for band but I just used it for recordings.  I never used it for editing, but I found it fairly easy and fun to experiment with it.  This was a great week for me in ds106.  I also enjoyed listening to the audio story of the Adventures of Sherlock Holmes.  Like I mentioned in the post about my experience to listening to The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, I have never listened to a radio show before.  It was interesting to hear a story through the radio.  I am also looking forward to the radio show project.  I have never taken an online class before and I have never done a group project with people in an online class.  So I’m looking forward to see how it’ll work out.  I am looking forward to what we will be learning about digital storytelling next week.
