Weekly Reflection:

This week in ds106 we started to explore the realm of audio story telling! I first started off on the main assignments by getting Audacity and using Free Sounds to navigate my way to complete the first assignment on creating my own sound effect story. The controls within Audacity gave me a bit of trouble at first, I would randomly hit something and have no idea what I did. I ended up having to start over several times before I manage to grasp the controls and complete my MP3. With that one done the Radio bumper was just finding the right kind of music and the right dialogue to put on top of it.

My favorite assignment was listening to the ds106radio, interacting with DrGarcia on twitter and with the laid back sound to the radio. The fact I could tell that there really was a person having a conversation with me over the radio made it a wonderful experience.

Graffiti can be beautiful. This was my best shot at graffiti on some paper while listening to another professor’s lecture. Yes, I was listening.

Audio storytelling:

From both speakers what I took away most from the information; the idea of Co imagination. That by the way you tell a story you put the paint brush in the hands of your listener. It is your job of the story teller to engage the audience in a manner that the story is constantly changing for them individually, while trailing them along with questions.

Radio Story:

I listened to the first couple of Sherlock Holmes radio episodes. The story utilized brilliant dialogue and the use of Foley sound effects and some music.
