Final Project – Giant Jackson

So, for my final project, I decided to go with the video media focus rather than any of the other things that we’ve worked on this semester.  I went ahead and did two different things to make this as well rounded as possible.  The first is I edited an IMDB page to reflect the ‘movie trailer’ that I was going to make.

Here is my IMDB page!

For the actual assignment, I made a ‘movie trailer’.  I put that in little quotes because I started out making a trailer, but then kind of collected too much footage that I wasn’t comfortable with getting rid of or leaving out, so I made a little mini movie instead.  I hope that you all enjoy it!  It took me a good amount of time to get everything the way that I wanted to.

Now, I had a LOT of fun making this project.  I kind of figured over the past couple of weeks that this would be the most fun on a project that I’ve done this semester, and I was right.  I didn’t really look at this as work for a class.  It’s something that, much like the other work I’ve done with Jackson, I can go ahead and look back on years from now and still get a smile from.

I used FCPX to edit all of clips and used Requiem For A Dream for my song of choice.  I really felt like this would be the best bet, given the sort of emotion I wanted to get from the audience.  I really feel like this song captured the essence of the video perfectly.

I really feel like the movie trailer that I’ve made and the IMDB page that I created really stand on their own, much like the assignment asks of us.  I think this project is probably the only one that I’ve spent so much time on, so I hope the quality of it reflects that.  With the IMDB page, and the trailer, I really do feel like I exceeded any expectations that I originally had.

Jackson did great in filming.  It’s funny because he got really fussy at times and I was thinking that this must be what the hollywood life is really like.  When the star gets tired, they get cranky.  I had to take a lot of breaks in between filming because he just wasn’t interested all of the time.  Filming a baby though is a lot more difficult because you never know what they’re going to do.  I can’t just make him go to where I tell him to go.  He has to do it completely on his own, which was a challenge in and of itself.

Well, I hope that you all liked my two contributions.  I can’t believe this class is over, but it was a fun ride while it lasted!
