Design Safari:

Color

Color

This one was a little harder for me to grasp just cause when I think color, I generally think of a variety of colors, which I tried to capture in the picture with five.  Now the one part that I unintentionally did was manage to capture sunlight coming in through the window.  I was surprisingly pleased with this outcome cause it lit up the ribbons a bit more, and gave them a bit of a shine at the top.

Minimalism and Use of Space

Minimalism and use of space

For this design, I simply looked to my left and noticed a fairly neat pencil jar and realized how much space a pencil jar saves, rather than just having pens and pencils lying around.  Out of all the pictures I took, I felt this was the best just cause I tend to be a rather minimalist in my own regard, so it was just simple and to the point.

(Bad) Balance

Bad balance

For balance, I wasn’t so sure as to how to make it look good, so I took the “pro tip” and just looked for an unbalance in the room.  It was easy enough to spot a pile of clothes lying on the bed behind me.

Unity

Unity

I really just wanted to make a cheesy joke about how this picture has good “chemistry” for the unity part.  I had a few other idea, mainly with objects or landscape being tied together in a unifying way, and looking back on it there’s a bunch I would change.  Ideally, I would’ve preferred the books to be similar color/size/font, but at the same time it may have looked a little too formal and forced.

Design Assignments:

4 Icon Story

4 icon story

I don’t forsee anyone guessing what movie this is.  Pretty random, fairly old movie.

Learning By Design

Learning by design

The French Terror!  I actually completed this directly after my class, so it was pretty fun to draw this up.  My main issue was that I don’t have any colors or good materials in general, so it was a pretty boring drawing.  I did feel that I was able to convey the message without many words though, as I pretty much stuck to reactionary words and labels for people.

Pictures Into Words

Pictures into words

A little confused on how much I was allowed to tweak the objects I used, and I kinda cheated by using an upside down “M” for my “W” but I made up for it by using a toilet paper roll for an “A” which didn’t look too good.

Daily Create:

Cozy in a Blanket

Cozy in a blanket

Not much to say here except that this is a stuffed bunny getting very cozy in bed.  After further inspection though, he looks a little less cozy, and a little more creepy.  In hindsight, probably shouldn’t have posed him looking directly into the camera.

If you could be any pastry in the world, which would you be?

Bonus: Chris Christie
