After a failed attempt to find a suitable maiden from the tributes under the bakery, the Fandom Princess and Harold continued to the last place the Princess felt certain she would be able to find someone who would be able to help them.
They arrived back at Mercury but did not enter the castle. Instead, they diverged and went straight for the woods behind the castle. The sun was now past the highest point in the sky and Harold was beginning to sweat in the Princessâ hand.
âPrincess, I can hop if you need me to,â he said. âI wouldnât want to give you a wart.â
The Princess rolled her eyes. âDonât be silly, darling. Itâs nothing a bit of magic wouldnât be able to heal in a second. Stay positive, I feel as if our luck is about to change.â
Further into the warm woods they went. There was a slight breeze in the air and the smell of cherry blossoms filled the Princessâs nostrils. She knew they were getting close. She continued on until finally she came to a small hut beside a tiny stream.
âWhat-,â Harold began to say, but the Princess shushed him as she approached the hut door.
Instead of knocking, however, the Princess closed her eyes and recited: âLiver tongues and toad eyes, grant me an entrance and Iâll bring you a prize.â
The hut before their very eyes began to shake as if vibrating in the earth. It stopped after a moment and the door flew open. The Princess walked in and Harold was amazed at what he saw.
Although the hut was small on the outside, the inside of the hut was massive. In fact, it resembled more of a miniature version of a castle than anything else. They were standing in the front foyer, a massive staircase to the left leading up to multiple floors. People in long black robes walked holding wands and brooksticks in their hands.
âThis is certainly something,â Harold croaked amused.
âTiffany!â A voice called from the right of the pair. The Princess looked over to see Bryson, adorned in his own black robes and a large broomstick in his hand.
The Princess smiled widely; she had forgotten that this was the one fandom Bryson had worked hard to get into. He was entranced by all the magic and spells the wizards had to teach him here.
She walked over to him and embraced him in a hug, filling him in on her current adventure. Bryson was all too happy to help as he walked with her towards one of the professors on the fourth floor of the hut.
Also on this week’s to-do in remixing (yeeeah!) was to complete the Storytelling with Recycled Media assignment. With this assignment, we had to go to the website that our lovely instructor compiled for us that had about 170 media pieces that students decided not to use this semester. I even saw the pieces that I submitted! I wonder if anyone will use them…
Anywho, this assignment wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be. Because we had to create a story only from the pieces of media that were recycled, we were really forced to kind of think about what kind of story we wanted to tell. I definitely worked the left side of my brain even more because I have hardcore riding the strugglebus trying to come up with a story based on the audio sounds I listened to and the pictures that I saw.
What sparked it for me was when I listened to a clip that reminded me of Japan. It sounded like a sort of festival going on (definitely brought back some memories.) I scrolled down and clicked on a sound clip that was a fire with a woman screaming. Kind of morbid, but the idea hit me; I’ll make a video about a fire happening at a festival and accidently burning down a video. Now, please don’t think I’m some kind of monster for making this video! I swear I never want that to happen! But after looking through those media files for an hour, this was the best my little overworked brain could come up with. =[ I’m sorryyyy.
If you all don’t hate me and my idea, then you can watch the video below. I added in some fading in and out to black to add to the dark mood, and I cut out the woman screaming because that was just a little much for me. All the pictures were also used from the website, and I just put them in the order of the beginning of the festival (good times and security and stuff) and then the building that unfortunately gets burned down, and then the rubble at the end… I know, it’s such a bad concept, I’m sorry! But I hope this at least makes everyone remember safety at any sort of event!
Don’t hate me! =[
