I am eager to report to the blogosphere about yesterday’s meeting during which we decided not only on a course title, but also a hashtag. We are close to 85% certain that the course will be titled “Collaborative Curiosity: Designing Community-Engaged Research,” but there’s still time to rename the name. We also debated the hashtag. One is #VCUCEnR, but we also need one that pertains to the course and its development -#VCUBlend?
You see a pattern? The naming of course and hashtag grew out of Valerie’s blog! I’ll refer you over to her posts- Course-That-Has-No-Name and Blend. Well, people, the blend is happening as our exciting ideas become real.
The image above depicts our core content areas that align with our learning goals. The core learning questions we will investigate during this course are:
- What is CEnR? How do we understand CEnR as a research perspective rather than as a specific method or technique?
- How do we build and maintain collaborative research partnerships with community partners?
- How do we design and implement CEnR?
- How will we disseminate and translate research findings in ways that are accessible to a broad and general population?
- How can we harness the potential power of social media for sharing information about research?
Next up: course description, competencies, syllabus. Do stay tuned.
