When life gives you inventions, use them.

Today (well technically yesterday since it’s after 12) I was working on the daily create which asks users to draw a picture of a new invention. Originally my thought was to make a pump dispenser for toothpaste (since I almost attempted to pump soap on my toothbrush in an overlooked moment and thought it would be cool), but I figured since I didn’t have to actually engineer this invention I would go bold.

Of course I still have not finished cleaning my room (the process takes months without the help of my animal friends), but today I took on the task of sorting all of the laundry that was in my hamper, and boy is it a lot! There are so many things to take into consideration based on color and weight of the clothes, so I figured why not make a Laundry Sorter that sorts for you by both color and weight. I know I would invest in that! So here is what I ended up coming up with:

Laundry Sorter 5000I made this in good old Paint because GIMP seems to be one of my many villains in this class. While I figured out how to access toolboxes early in the week, I still can’t seem to figure out how to draw a simple rectangle. So I resorted to paint, and I used Clip Art from Microsoft Word to get my clothes (talk about a double blast from the past). Looking back at this process now, I think I would of had a lot more success making all of this in Microsoft Word because it is very easy to rotate rectangles and it would be a lot more consistent. Maybe I will keep that in mind for my next project!

Happy sorting!
