Learn for Yourself!

What is learning if you do not explore new avenues on your own? If you don’t try to search exciting ways, new ideas, awesome experiences. “You can lead the horse to the water, but you can’t make him drink.” If a teacher only told me what to do, and how to do it, I would not be truly learning. I would be following step by step instructiong without really thinking about it, without searching myself and my resources for answers. I would not care. Reading “A personal Cyberinfrastructure” has helped me to realize this. As I was trying to create my blog, with the domain and host, and all of these new technological terms, I struggles a great deal to do it the correct way. I tried to follow the step by step tutorial but still to no avail. So, I sought out my resources as a new guide to help me. This article showed that yes, students do need some sense of direction, but they cannot have their hand held through every step. They cannot be told what to do and how to do it. They have to learn for themselves and therefore about themselves. Teachnology can be a greta way to acheive this way of learning.
