I would like to speak on the negative aspects that many people are pulling from this talk that Campbell does. We talk about how this growth in technology use among the younger generations will create and irreversible dependency that will alter lives drastically, but i would say why is growth in technology dependence bad? I say it is good starting kids off early with technology so that they can advance and learn about it right away, but that doesn’t mean we need to disregard the pencil and the paper and rid the world of physical textbooks and novels. They can work together hand in hand, in school we learn to read and write and speak like sane human beings, why can’t we also learn to blog and create web pages?
Aside from that rant, I would say that the Cyber-infrastructure is great. Being able to connect and work with people through the web and many social media sites is great. I can see how if people become dependent on media socializing how their day to day human interaction skills could begin to lack, but that is where things like Skype and Face-time come along, there you can see the person and speak to the person and there you are creating a growth in your social skills in more than one way.
