Why do you wanna do that?

We watched Garner Campbell’s lecture on personal cyberinfrastructure and how it can be incorporated into classrooms.  If you would like to see this video check it out here. He is able to use the actual jargin and Im pretty sure he knows what he is talking about.

I want to talk about what interests me in all of this. I liked how he talks about technology as a bag of gold. What I am doing here on this recently neglected blog is valuable learning. I am talking some of what I know how to do and using that to learn new technologies. And its relativity fun as I go through the process. So why is this not being used in classrooms now?  Students are already dabbling in similar things in their outside life. We should take the tools that are already in front of us and make something amazing.

I will be the first to tell you that learning about my personal cyberinfrastructure scares me. But I’m making it work little by little. Students would be able to grasp how to manege a blog if we gave them the chance. That is the message that  I took away- its going to be hard at first, but in the end it will be worth it. Like a big ol’ bag of gold.
