I tend to fall a lot…so I might as well fall in love with Ed Parkour

What an amazing concept!

”The definition of parkour, according to Merriam-Webster Dictionary is: par·kour: the sport of traversing environmental obstacles by running, climbing, or leaping rapidly and efficiently”

I believe today, we need to think of education in new and exciting ways. Many students are so interested in sports and adventure; so why not get them to think about learning in a parkouresque way? I use this image above because I strongly believe that in order to connect with students, we will need to be creating a community of trust, essentially a family, a home.  I want students to leap head strong and head first into leaning. I want them to be able to come to me, and theri peers brimming with questions and insights. This article, “Who is Ed Parkour” by Bill Generaux (http://billgx.edublogs.org/2012/02/04/who-is-ed-parkour/) mentions being trauceurs. In order to this, we need to be able to roll with whatever the new system requires of. We need to be able to turn everything into a teachable moment, a moment that students can carry with them wherever they go. I want to be able to traverse through the obstacles of the educational system and make it to the end not with a gold medal, but with experiences that I will be able to share with my students that will enable them to push foreward and make it through their obstacles.
