Can You Guess The Songs?

So, for my first Audio Assignment, I decided to complete “The Contest Nobody Could Win,” worth 2 stars.  For this assignment, I had to choose 6 songs and play only 1 second from each songs and see if anyone can guess the songs I used.

To complete this assignment, I used Audacity which I just downloaded to complete another assignment.  I used songs that I had previously downloaded on my computer (MP3 versions of the songs).  I opened them all on one sound page in Audacity.  I then listened to each song until I found the part in the song that I wanted to use.  I had to highlight that part and then use the trim tool to remove the rest of the song.  The nice thing about Audacity is that you can listen to the just highlighted part and adjust the size of it until you have it playing the exact part you want it to.  Sometimes it gets a little frustrating trying to get the song to stop at a word, but overall it’s not difficult.  Once I did this for each song, I then used the Time Shift Tool to move the songs one right after another, so it would be continuous play, no pauses between songs. I then saved it on Audacity as well as exported it as an MP3 file so I would be able to upload it on to my blog here.

This was a fun assignment because it gave me a chance to go through my songs and find my favorite ones.  I used songs that I consider to be my favorite now and I also used songs that use to be my favorite.

Hint, most of the songs on here are country but 2 are not.

Good Luck!
