Copyright or Wrong……??

Today, I did presentation;))

I’d like to talk about my section of “Copyright or Wrong”.

First, what is copyright?? According to Wikipedia,

“Copyright is a legal concept, enacted by most governments, giving the creator of an original work exclusive right to it, usually for a limited time. Generally, it is “the right to copy”, but also gives the copyright holder the right to be credited for the work, to determine who may adapt the work to other forms, who may perform the work, who may financially benefit from it, and other related rights. It is an intellectual property form (like the patent, the trademark, and the trade secret) applicable to any expressible form of an idea or information that is substantive and discrete. Copyright initially was conceived as a way for government to restrict printing.”

Even though there are copyright laws around world, someone break the laws easily because music and videos on the internet are easy to scan by someone.

I am interested in what is different depending on the country of copyright laws. As a result, when you violate copyright laws, you will be punished in different ways depending on where you live.

This link does not describe about copyright laws in Japan. There are eight different kinds of rules of copyright laws. When you violate moral rights, copyright, publishing, the moral rights of performer or neighboring, you must serve in prison for 3 years at the max or you have to pay fine. Japanese are considered that violating copyright laws are one of the heavy penalties.

There is a problem with Mega upload which is online storage service. This site is convenient for users because people can watch various kinds of TV drama and movies for free. However, people who selling DVD will be losing their money because of this site. Finally, they sue this site and then Mega upload shut down. Here is a link.

The other problem is people who scan TV drama and movies in the internet sell them on online shopping site. You will never know whether what you ordered until you actually receive it. Is there anyone who has ever experienced this situation before??

In my opinion through searching copyright laws, people who manage sites should apply copyright before page of site upload on the site. Also, I got shocked because even though like Megaupload is famous site around the world, it is possible to have shut down. I think that it is hard to find someone who break the copyright laws on the internet.

Thank you;))
