For this assignment, I chose to use the beauty pageant/stage queen theme. Luckily it wasn’t TOO difficult because I’ve been able to continuously experiment with the VideoPad Video Editor. The difficult part was just remembering what movies and shows I have seen with these kind of scenes in them. For my first scene, I used a clip from “Drop Dead Gorgeous” in which a girl wins runner up and she freaks out, followed by her boyfriend in the audience freaking out. The second scene is a clip from “Carrie,” where Carrie wins prom queen. The third scene is a clip from “Miss Congeniality,” and it’s toward the end of the movie where Sandra Bullock is in the final pageant. The fourth scene is a clip from “Little Miss Sunshine” where all of the plastic-y little girls are being shown. Finally, the fifth scene is a clip from a “Toddlers and Tiaras” episode, where a mother has completely dolled up her child. I only had one second per scene, which also made the transitioning slightly more complicated. So be prepared!
