Can you guess the single?

For design assignment two (3 stars), I decided to complete “Name that single!”  Some of these assignment, all I have to do is read the title and I know exactly what I want to do, this is one of those assignments.  I decided to create an image for “Party in the USA” by Miley Cyrus, yes I love this song and yes when she says “I put my hands up,” I mostly certainly do put my hands up!

To complete this assignment, I used Photoshop again! I am becoming a big fan, while it is time consuming and stressful, I like what I am starting to be able to do on it.  When I think party, I think fun and bright. So to capture an image that fit this upbeat song, I decided to start with an image of a black filled in United States, which I found on Google.  Then I added the neon balloons, which again I found on Google, and while I am at it, I will just go ahead and mention that all of the rest of the pictures I used I found on Google.  I opened up a new page in Photoshop for each of the 5 balloons.  I used the pen tool to cut out the balloon from its background, then I used the Refine Edge tool, clicked smart radium and adjusted the edges by playing with the smooth and shift edge tools.  I did this to make the outlines of the balloons look less jagged.  Then I placed the balloons in the area I wanted them.  I repeated this process for the boom box, the cake, the girl/party attendant and the party hat.  All of this together, I think creates a pretty good image that obviously screams “I represent “Party in the USA.”  Go download the song and don’t be afraid to put you hands up and belt it out! :)
