When the movie “Think Like A Man” first came out, I was really excited to see it. I still am happy that I saw it, it was a very good movie. I think that the first three minutes or so of that movie really lead an insight into why things are how they are.

For those of you that never saw the movie, the first few minutes are a cartoon about why it may be hard to settle down with men. As opposed to what women think, it is just as much out fault as it is theirs. We need to act like a lady in order to be treated like a lady. I feel as if that little cartoon really was an excellent way to depict the situation in a humorous way.

Think about it: 50 years ago the only way to get in touch with someone was in person. If you wanted to go on a date, you needed to ask someone face to face. In addition, sex wasn’t a given at the end of the night. A lot of the time, people waited til marriage. Sex was actually
something to work for.

Nowadays, you can reach somebody any way whether it be through cell phones or Facebook. If you want to find someone, chance are that you will be able to. Sex isn’t sacred anymore. Porn and other related sites are at the tips of your fingertips. Why work for something when it is so easy to get?

I wish that we lived in a time of courtship. I hate the fact that people find themselves entitled to “get a girl” after a few drinks at a bar at the end of the night. I also hate that most women don’t make themselves more important, somebody to work for. If you give yourself away easily, that is what you will be known for.

Whatever happened to respect?
