Create something that might look like the screenshot of someone’s Pinterest (www.pinterest.com) account. It could be that of a fictional character (Harry Potter might pin “how to get rid of scars” or maybe Princess Leia is pinning “Easy Bun Hairdos”) or just things you personally like. This assignment may make more sense to you if you have a pinterest account, but if not you could easily take a screen shot of the homepage. Be creative!
This is a 2 Star Assignment
I was just scrolling through the Design Assignment Repository when I noticed this one about Pinterest. I decided to do this one because I love Pinterest and I also noticed that no one has done this assignment so far. What I first did was go to my Pintrest account. On Pinterest currently I have 5 Boards that are titled: Places and Spaces, Quotes, Food/Drink, Awww…so adorable, and Etc. What I did with this assignment was create a new board titled Me. With this new board titled Me, I pinned a mix of things from my other boards into one board that describes who I am, and what kind of things that I like as well as things that I’d like to do in the future. So I did was take two pins from all 5 of my other boards that described me and then place them into my new board called me. (I did a total of 10 pins for this because I wanted to make sure all of my pins would fit in the screen shot. After that I then took a screen shot of my Pinterest board using Jing. After taking the screen shot I then uploaded it to Flickr, so I could embed the picture into this blog post. One thing I wish Pintrest did was let you organize all the pins you have on one board inthe way you want to instead of just randomly placing them. But I really like Pinterest you can find a lot of cool stuff on there.
Now to explain why I choose the pins I did starting at the top left and going across then down.
The letter A-pretty self explanatory, my first and last name start with an A. The dog in the scarf I choose because now it is October and one of my favorite seasons (Autumn). I also thought the dog was really adorable in this picture. I love chocolate chip banana bread, I used to make it all the time at home, but I don’t have as much time to make it at school which is sad. One of my favorite quotes is, “Dare to live your dreams” I believe that everyone should live this way, and follow their heart. Colorado is definitely one of my favortie places, I used to live in Colorado until I was 5, and I’ve visited it a few summers ago because I have a lot of family and friends there, I love the Colorado mountains and hot springs the best.
Now onto the next row: I love Carmal apples, they are one of my favorite foods, and an apple is one of my favorite fruits. I’ve always wanted to see the Eiffel Tower in Paris because I’ve been taking French since I started high school. I also want to see more countries in Europe. “Live, love, laugh” is definitely one of my favorite quotes. I try to live my life by this quote. The kind of dog in the picture is a cock-a-poo, I have a cock-a-poo (not in the picture above but here). Her name is Sophie and she really helped me over come my fear of dogs when I was younger. The last picture is probably one of my favorite places to eat. Bodo’s Bagels is only located in Charlottesville, VA. It has the best bagels ever, and I go there everytime I’m home. Over the summer I went there at least once a week if not more.
