Final Project Prequel

So I decide on photography for my final project…but before I start putting up me new photos I wanted to show you why I fell in love with photography in the first place. I started taking photography class my sophomore year of high school. My professor was this grouch of a man who despised the majority of the people in his intro photo classes. They took it for the credit and rarely did the work assigned to them.  They were loud and obnoxious students who would probably drive St. Peter crazy.  It was that class, despite the rude students, and the teacher that turned my interest in photography in to a passion. I wound up getting my first camera for that years Christmas. I think my parents probably wanted to take it back after the first week because I wouldn’t stop taking photos. From a pretty sunset to a weird angle of some kind of knick knack…I would snap it all up. This is from a project I did at the end of my junior year. The object was to create a photo show of how to do something. I chose how to make my teacher angry…the list was endless.  Despite his look of annoyance in the above photo, he is actually one of the kindest and most genuine people I have ever had the privilege to have had in my life. He sponsored a trip out west each summer and I went with some classmates.  We traveled to Yellow Stone National Park  (a place like no other…everyone should go there before they die) and Jackson Hole, Wyoming. I think I filled an entire memory card in the first day.

Easily one of the most amazing trips of my life. I got a whole new perspective on space and lighting and respect for professional photographers.

I don’t know that any of my new photos will be worthy of mention (I will be blogging them…I don’t know that I’ll be showing them off though). I hope that I am able to execute the ideas in my head for the coming weeks so that I am proud to show off my work. Only time will tell. Now you have a background for why I wanted to do this for my final project. Stay tuned for what pops up next.
