VA is for Lovers

Im proud to say I was born and raised in Woodbridge V.A. It’s a nice area but I’ve been here my whole life and i would life to see the world. I have only moved twice in my life and they were only 15 minutes away from each other :/ This assignment sparked my interest because postcards were something my mom and I used to collect when we were younger :]. No matter where we went we would always pick up a postcard for a scrapbook. I wish we hadn’t stopped. I also would love to travel the world when im able. So this assignment was interesting to me in many ways.

I found a few images online that kind of define Virginia. The Virginia is for lovers bumper sticker is a very common one in this area and the colors on the top image just gave it a welcoming touch. It also has images of many of the Historic sites we have around this area and that’s a huge part of Virginia. So i upload both images to gimp as separate layers. My bumper sticker was a little big so i resized that picture and then used the rotate tool so stretch and make the postcard say greetings from Va is for lovers. At first i wanted to make it look like kind of bumper sticker effect and crooked but after a while of messing around and re-placing the item it seemed clever to keep it where i did.
