I chose linda3dots’ Berry Splash, because it jumped off the page of so many designs and grabbed my attention. Maybe because it’s morning and I haven’t had breakfast yet, but nonetheless it called to me!

This image makes use of a color to make the raspberries dominant. By colorizing the red raspberries again the rest of the black and white image, it immediately shoots your eye to them, before you think to look at the rest of the photo. For me my eyes go: raspberries, blackberries & blueberries, then the waffles, before consciously looking at the other elements in the photograph. The capture of this image, showing only the breakfast items and tools (food, plate, fork, mug) creates a sense of unity and minimalism of a basic meal that is especially appealing, leaving you with an appetite for simple, healthy food. Also, the balance and proportion of the subjects in the image put more weight and emphasis on the healthiest part…the berries! To me, the message here is simple, too: embellishing your breakfast with berries is a simple way to add interest, without the calories!

Hmm…yes, I think it’s time to go make breakfast!
